  • property owners are the only parties authorized to submit applications

The city of Jacksonville has sent notices to 2,800 home owners who have been cited and in many cases, are paying $250 a day in fines. The mayor and the city council have signed off on a 90 day State Building Code Amnesty program which requires paperwork but no application fee. “We try to give them a chance to come in an not worry about the fines, (to) take those fines, those dollars and put into rehabbing properties and getting these properties back and livable” Derek Igou, deputy chief administrative officer is quoted as saying.
